I love the crate however they are still unassembled. I took everything out, removed the shrink wrap- incredible packaging- read the instructions and started. However I do not have the strength to use the rivet gun, not even for one rivet, never mind the hundred or so necessary. I have had to call on a friends husband to build them for me. She had a larger collapsible version which she said needed no rivets, just pull it up and add the rails. I am most disappointed as without help I have no way to build these. I assumed, wrongly they would come assembled as they are the X small crates. You should advise people of the need for assembly on a stationary crate and give us an option to have them assembled. If I had known I would have bought the collapsible version I can’t wait to get them back and in my car where they are desperately needed.

After researching and trying a number of small-dog crates on the market, the MIM Care2 is the best I’ve found for vehicle travel. It’s extremely well constructed with doors that are easy to latch and unlatch (and having two doors is extremely handy). I’ve used the crate on both single and bench seats and it fits perfectly, which gives a lot of flexibility in setting up my vehicle. And the crate offers lots of ventilation to keep my little guy comfortable, while still feeling very sturdy.

It took a long time to arrive but worth the wait, especially as I wasn't required to pick it up at the border! Best crates ever, they will last a life time. This is the second time I purchased Variocrates as I changed vehicles and needed smaller creates than I had. They hold their value, unlike plastic crates.

I purchased a MIM crate, cover, leash hooks & bowl. All items are of superior quality. Dogs love the crate, love that they are safe. Customer service was terrific. Good experience all around! Thank you!

Wheeled trolley for collapsible crates

After making our first flight to Montreal, my satisfaction for the crate is still at a high level. There was a bit of a hiccup departing from Calgary as the staff didn't want the wheels placed on top of the crate. ...however when departing from Montreal there were no issues whatsoever. I loved that I was able to lock the crate with the key. Actually NUMEROUS people including the airline staff commented on how safe it looked and felt. As a faster check-in tip, I suggest having the weight written down ahead of time to avoid going to the scale..especially in Calgary as it's higher above the ground....the picture here shows Lazer waiting to be picked up on our way back....he wasn't stressed coming out of the crate when we arrived in Montreal and surely didn't seem to worry about getting back in on our way back. I attended a show while vacationing and people took pictures of the crate and said they were planning on looking into one as well....heck even my mom's cat wanted to claim it!

Very nice people and great crates. I recently bought a large stationary crate . I am very happy with it. The guys at K&Js were super friendly and helpful when I picked up the crate . They also helped me strap it down in my new Jeep. I recommend K&J to everybody who has car safety in mind for their K9 family members .

Very easy to deal with K&J. Sizing was perfect. The cage works like a charm. It was more difficult to assemble than expected, but not too bad. Great overall!

My dog LOVES this crate and is very eager to spend time in it. The only reason I didn’t give 5 stars is that the screws tend to come loose randomly, and from a safety standpoint it’s a concern. I check them regularly to ensure they are good.
I love this crate!

I have a German shepherd mix who escaped the standard wire cage and injured herself doing so. Since getting this beautiful crate she is safely secured while I am out of the house. I got the XL and my girl has plenty of room to lay down and turn around. Very happy with my purchase.

Great product, love assembly with rivets. However instructions are lacking and if you rivet wrong stuff together you have to drill them out! Still highly recommend, just be careful.

Pros: Beautiful design, strong, smooth locking mechanism, turnaround time was reasonable for the order.

Cons: some corners were bent during shipping that we had to hammer out, the rivet gun provided was really hard to use so we had to get our own, the instructions for the crate were very vague and since we had to assemble the crate ourselves that was an issue.

My dog is not sound sensitive so this isn't an issue for us, but the bottom pan of the crate tends to make a loud metal popping sound depending on the dog's weight distribution in the crate, additionally the handles on the top of the crate are spring-loaded and snap back against the crate of you let go abruptly making a very loud metal pop sound in the crate.

Well built and smooth rolling

Customer service was fantastic exec before I ordered, and then the crate came quickly, super easy to set up, very nice, and my dog immediately wanted to investigate, can't wait to take it travelling!

We pre-ordered our crate on sale and it came faster than expected. It came very well packaged and set up easily. The back rail was too long, so I took a video and photos to email the company. I was completely surprised to get a phone call from the owner who answered all my questions and popped the correct piece in the mail with a return label that same day. The crate itself is fantastic. Everything is so well thought of and the material is extremely durable quality. My dog fits comfortably (75 lbs, German Shepherd female) in the large. Wish I had bought a crate like this years ago, we will never go back to flimsy wire or plastic crates!
